Garden of the Gods - Wood Slice Original Painting

$60.00

Acrylic Painting of Garden of the Gods in Colorado on a wood slice

Dimensions: 2.75” x 3.25”

From log to painted ornament: This wood is sourced from Cashes Valley in Blue Ridge Georgia. My dad is slowly re-clearing the land that has been in my family for generations. Each visit home, I carefully select logs that I think would work well for my slices. Each log (that doesn’t crack!) is cut into slices, and coated with boiled linseed oil to help keep the slice from cracking during it’s drying process. After they dry, I lacquer the wood slices to protect from moisture. Then, they are ready to paint on! The painted surface is finished with a layer of varnish, and I add a ribbon for hanging!
